Atelier Optif is a young, dynamic practice at the intersection of architecture, design, and research, working across scales—from territories to objects.
The studio interprets each project as an evolving process, conceiving architecture with a pragmatic approach that remains playful in its iterations and sensitive to contexts and collective needs.
We embrace an open-ended approach to address each commission, as an opportunity to create unique projects seeking a balance between intertwined processes of design and production. Our aim is to go beyond conventional boundaries, exploring design with fresh perspectives and fostering porous collaboration with creatives and actors from diverse disciplines.
Founded in 2024 by Alessandro Cacioppo, Atelier Optif emerges from a diverse range of experiences. Graduated between Turin and Hong Kong, Alessandro trained as an architect in Italy, Spain, France, and The Netherlands. He collaborated with RCR Arquitectes (Pritzker Prize, 2017) on the design of the artistic and cultural complex on the Île Seguin in Paris, and also worked in Paris for Atelier Jean Nouvel (Pritzker Prize, 2008) on projects in France and Middle East. Alessandro operates at the intersection of various disciplines, acting as both an architect and a strategic designer. He combines practice and research by teaching as a design assistant at Politecnico di Milano.
